Full Vanagon Engine Services (including replacements or conversions)

• VanGo Auto offers two replacement engine options for your Vanagon –
  • Waterboxer engine – we will replace your 2.1L with a stock option or will offer upgrades in power (2.2L and 2.3L)
  • Subaru Conversion – a great option to step into the 21st century of technology and power
• VanGo Auto will service other conversion Vanagons as well as TIICO, Diesel, and Ztec

Fuel System Services

• Line replacement – hard and rubber hose with new clamps and firewall connection replacement
• Tank replacement or reline; tank reseal with new hoses, clamps, and fittings
• Injector replacement with proper sealing rings
• Pump and filter replacement

Drivability Diagnostic and Vanagon Electrical System Services

• VanGo Auto will diagnose and repair any electrical concerns your VW Vanagon has – these can be little gremlins, but that’s okay, we are the best at battling electrical issues. Our auto mechanics have up to date equipment to effectively diagnose these old beasts.

Front/Back Suspension and Brake Service

• Vanagon replacements for – shocks (Bilstein is the best option to keep those tires in good order), springs (stock or slightly lifted height with                                                                                                                        leveling pads, if needed), suspension and steering component (stock or urethane bushings), brake service (stock or aftermarket, oh those big brakes are so nice to have cruising with all that weight on the roads).
• Wheel and tire upgrades (just think about where your spare will go because it may not fit in the original stock tire location)

Vanagon Camper/Pop-Top/Interior Services

• Pop-top tent replacement – a handful of options of material, color, and design
• LED lighting upgrades – this includes bulbs in the dash and on the shifter, or lighting anywhere you want to have it
• Upholstery repair
• Front seat upgrade or refinish – seats get a little worn out after 30 years
• Pop-top lift assist – this little setup makes it much easier to lift the pop-top
• Skylight window installation
• Accessory installation for pop-top – racks, solar showers, etc.
• Auxiliary battery installation – often other components such as an inverter and battery charger are also installed. A helpful upgrade for the Vanagons.
• Refrigerator upgrade or removal for more storage (GoWesty has a great retrofit kit to create a storage space where the fridge was located).
• Propex auxiliary heater installation
• Diagnosis and repair for camper systems – water system, camper stove, fridge and other electrical components.

Exterior Services and Vanagon Upgrades

• Front and rear bumper stock replacement or heavy duty steel bumper upgrade
• Headlight upgrades – upgrade the existing setup or add a South African headlight kit
• Other exterior lighting upgrades – fog lights or reverse back up light, L.E.D. exterior lights
• Exterior storage solutions – swing tray with cargo box, roof rack or luggage cargo box, some good options for that extra storage needed
• Awning installation – 8 or 10-foot wide option. It even has a light option! How cool is that?
• Spare tire carrier for larger wheels – mounted on the rear or top of the roof

Drivetrain

• Front and rear wheel bearing maintenance or replacement
• Drive axle replacement – standard and heavy duty axles and hardware available
• Automatic/manual transmission services – fluid service, rebuilds, fluid leak repair, linkage repair
